Nature comes to life during the monsoon season, and as much as we enjoy the rainy season, it does present its own set of challenges, especially if you have a child at home to protect.
Here are some tips to help your child avoid infections and stay healthy while having a great time.
Take care of the cold before it takes care of you! The monsoon season is a breeding ground for colds, flu, and other airborne and waterborne infections. One of the best ways to boost your child’s immune system is by providing them with food rich in Vitamin C and other nutrients. Citrus fruits and vegetables like orange, apple, guava, and kale are rich in Vitamin C. You can also give your child Vitamin supplements. However, it is always preferable to consume them in the form of fruits and vegetables.
Drinking Safe Water
Even mildly contaminated water can cause serious health issues. As a result, it is vital to drink only from trusted and reliable sources. Carry a mineral water bottle with you when you travel instead of drinking from tap water.
Changing to a Healthier Diet
This also necessitates the participation of your child. Instead of money for eating out, give him healthy snacks to keep in his bag. Advise him to avoid street food and instead provide him with tasty alternatives. Take them with you when you go outside with your child.
With constant rain, it can be quite challenging to clean up dirty and contaminated places like muddy floors, pooled water, etc. Washing hands and feet, whenever your child returns home, should be a rule. During the rainy season, the floor must be cleaned at least twice. While cleaning the floor, mix some floor cleaners with antiseptic liquid into the water. Make certain that the child is dressed in clean clothes, socks, and footwear.

It’s best to wear cotton clothes during the monsoon season as they are quick to absorb sweat and they are light and airy, making your skin easier to breathe. Always keep your raincoats and gumboots clean and dry.
No Street Food
Water-borne infections such as diarrhoea and food poisoning are common during the monsoon season. We have no idea what type of water they use to prepare and store food outside. It is preferable to feed your child homemade foods, where we can control the cleanliness and storage of the foods. Try making their favorite street food in your own kitchen, but in a more healthy way.
No Getting Wet
Although getting wet in rain can be tempting but the diseases that come with are, not so tempting! It is preferable to avoid getting wet. Make sure to keep all the necessary rain supplies like an umbrella, and raincoat with you before you leave your home. Make your child change out of wet clothes and socks as soon as they get home.
Avoid Touching Eyes
Nowadays, children spend most of their time with their eyes glued to the phone screen, laptop, tablet, and TV. These surfaces often contain millions of bacteria. Rubbing your eyes with the same hands you were using to scroll the phone screen can cause eye infections like dry eyes, style, etc. It’s always better to take precautions.
Get Them Vaccinated
Do not miss your kid’s regular vaccination shots. One of the best ways to make sure your child doesn’t get sick during the monsoon season is by getting them vaccinated. It is important to keep the child away from a sick parent or any relative.
