Dear Parents,

We celebrated Onam in school on the 1st & 2nd of September with an assembly which was a programme of hope and commitment to a better-shared future. The event was student-led and included some excellent performances from our youngest to our oldest students. ‘Mahabali and Vamana’ which was enacted by the children received cheering echoes from all over. ‘Onasadya’ – brought the mouth-watering moments that the festive day terribly missed due to virtual celebrations in the past two years. Congratulations to everyone involved especially our amazing educators and Prefectorial Board students who led the way. It was a great way to begin our celebrations and I hope you are able to enjoy the festivities during the holidays. We have a busy September coming up with various integrated activities & assessments and a range of professional development programs. Now while life has returned to normalcy, we wish to extend extra support to our students. We believe in celebrating cultural diversity. We are determined to work together with our community to ensure we meet the highest standards and we will be involving you further in this process. Have a wonderful festive season with your family.

ONAM ASHAMSAKAL...!!

Warm regards,

TEAM TIST

TIST CELEBRATES ONAM WITH ALL VIM AND VIGOUR

The International School of Thrissur, the one and only true international school in Thrissur, celebrated Onam- the harvest festival of Kerala in its Chirakkakode campus.

Onam celebrations began with the Inter House floral carpet contest. All the four houses of the school contested excitedly. Followed by the floral carpet contest, a string of cultural programs won the hearts of the onlookers. Boat race song, tug of war, Thiruvathirakkali, and Onam songs were some of them. The teachers and students wished each other happy Onam before proceeding to the multipurpose hall where a traditional feast on banana leaves were served to them. The students also surprised their teachers with a teacher’s day programme. Quiz and riddles were the main attraction of the teacher’s day programme. After the traditional feast, students left the campus merrily like multicolor butterflies.
