The International School of Thrissur (TIST) hosted the third chapter of its Model United Nations, TISTMUN, on October 16 and 17, 2026. The two-day conference was held on the school campus.

Student delegates took on the roles of world leaders and debated in three committees: the UN Security Council (UNSC), the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The topics included territorial sovereignty, the funding of the drug trade through cryptocurrency, and the ethics of capital punishment. Each delegate had to research their country’s position and present it in front of the committee.

The opening ceremony on day one included addresses by Chairperson Mr. M. P. Joseph, IAS (fmr), Principal Mr. Sanu Joseph, and Chief Guest Mr. Dipin P. R., IFS.

At the closing ceremony on the afternoon of October 17, Chief Guest Mr. Jaleesh Peter and Principal Mr. Sanu Joseph presented the awards. Prizes were given for Best Position Paper, Verbal Mention, Honourable Mention and High Commendation.

The Best Delegate awards went to Isa Sree (Singapore, UNHRC), K. S. Vishnuvardhan (Mexico, UNODC) and Akul Ajay (Russian Federation, UNSC).

Congratulations to all the delegates who took part in TISTMUN Chapter III.
